HUD Notice

A while ago, HUD sent out a notice to all housing providers under Public and Indian Housing. Notice PIH-2010-2 (HA) was issued on Jan 5. It covers "Non-Discrimination and Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities" and reminds receipients of Federal funds directly or indirectly from the Office of Public and Indian Housing of their obligations under various laws and regulations dealing with accessibility.

This is encouraging since, unfortunately, many housing providers still do not know their responsibility under law on accessibility, and is another indication that HUD is devoting more attention to this issue.

Waukesha County Consolidated Plan

Waukesha County has moved on to their next stage of the Consolidated Planning process. They previously held focus group meetings to receive some public input, and now they have released their draft of the Consolidated Plan and the 2010 Annual Plan. Please take this opportunity to review & provide feedback. Keep an eye out for the public meeting on the Consolidated Plan!

Five Year Consolidated Plan/2010 Annual Plan (Public Review and Comment) In accordance with federal requirements, Waukesha County has developed two documents for public review and comment which describe how Waukesha County will direct federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) funds anticipated to be received for the period of 2010-2014 and specifically for 2010.

Comments must be submitted prior to February 7, 2010 and sent to the Waukesha County Community Development Coordinator at 515 W. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188 or via email to glewinski@waukeshacounty.gov
